6 Fall Date Ideas for People Who are Sick of Being Basic

I LOVE fall. It is by far my favorite season. I am suddenly overwhelmed with the urge to do activities besides sitting in front of my fan. The drop in temperature and humidity fills me with lust for life, and the desire to leave my couch and have an adventure with my lady. When you think of fall date ideas you immediately recall apple picking, a romantic getaway to some rustic cabin, going to a local fall festival, etc. In my opinion, these are pretty played out, not to mention expensive forms of entertainment. And let’s be real, it's all pretty basic. If you are looking for some new ideas for fall activities that won't bankrupt you, check out this list. These ideas are perfect when done with your partner, the person you are “just talking” to, your besties, family members, or even the random strangers you find on Meetup.
1.Thrift Shop Flannels
You don’t have to break the bank to get those cute Instagram pictures with your special someones. Go to Goodwill, Salvation Army or another secondhand favorite and pick out some “new to you” fall flannels. You will look adorable, save money, and spend time together. That sounds like a win to me.
2. Name That Scent

3. Take a Drive

4. Kettle Corn & Movies
Nothing says fall like Kettlecorn. It is surprisingly easy to make and so delicious. Look up a recipe or use our favorite; insider tip: you can also use maple syrup! Pair it with your favorite Halloween movie and some ciders, and get cozy. Don’t forget to snuggle up with those fuzzy throws you can finally use again and enjoy a night in. Watch all four Halloweentown’s, we dare you.
5. The Great Apple Cooking Challenge
This is my partner’s favorite. When you inevitably go apple picking (as we all do) you are faced with a problem. What to do with all these apples. Sure, you can make a pie. But if you are feeling a little more adventurous (or a fan of Chopped!) do we have a date night for you. Here is your challenge: Use apples in every course. You can work together or make it a competition but either way you are going to have fun being creative and cooking together.
